"Tiger Lily" Gift Card Holder

Materials:

  • Yarn (worsted weight or yarn size 4 ) in the following colours: black, orange, yellow, green, yellow-green, burgundy, pink, white

  • Embroidery floss in the following colours: burgundy, dark green, black

  • 7 count plastic canvas mesh



Instructions:

  1. Cut out plastic canvas shapes as per diagram. The overall size of each piece is 26 holes wide by 17 holes high.

2. In corresponding yarn colours, fill in the tent stitches, cross stitches and straight stitches as per diagram below.

3. Add the burgundy and dark green straight stitches and back stitches as per diagram below.

4. Add the pink yarn and orange yarn straight stitch stamen details as per diagram below

5. Add the French knot details in black embroidery floss and burgundy yarn as indicated in the dots as per diagram below. Black dots are floss, green dots are burgundy yarn.

6. Using orange yarn, outline the individual petals in straight stitches as per diagram below.

7. Using the overcast stitch, finish the top edges of both pieces in black yarn.


8. Using black yarn, whipstitch the remaining three sides of gift card holder together making sure not to whipstitch the edges done in the overcast stitch.


Your project is now complete and should look similar to the photo of the sample piece shown.
