"Lace Corset" Gift Card Holder

Materials:
Yarn (worsted weight or yarn size 4 ) in the following colours: red and black
1/4 inch thick organza ribbon: red
1 inch thick lace: black and red
7 count plastic canvas mesh
Instructions:
Cut out plastic canvas shapes as per diagram. The overall size of front piece is 28 holes high by 17 holes wide and back piece is 26 wholes high by 17 holes wide

2. In corresponding yarn colours, fill in the tent stitches and cross stitches as per diagram below.

3. Using the red organza ribbon, straight stitch corset details as per diagram below where indicated by the red lines. Using black yarn, straight stitch corset details as per diagram below where indicated by black lines and stitch French knots where indicated by black dots.

4. Following the yellow lines below, gather the lace and sew it to the canvas using sewing thread and back stitches. Refer to photograph at top of page for lace colour reference if needed.

5. Using the overcast stitch, finish the top edges of both pieces in black yarn.
4. Using black yarn, whipstitch the remaining three sides of gift card holder together making sure not to whipstitch the edges done in the overcast stitch.
Your project is now complete and should look similar to the photo of the sample piece shown.
