Graveyard and House Halloween Gift Box

Materials Required to make 1 (one) shelf sitter:
2 sheets of 7 count mesh plastic canvas (10.5 inch by 13.5 inch)
1 ball of each of the following yarn colours (yarn size #4 or worsted weight): black, orange, gold, dark green, lime green, burgundy, purple
Four pieces of felt, each piece cut same size as one finished panel
Sewing thread or glue
Tools Required:
Tapestry needle
Scissors
Glue gun (optional)
Box Pattern Instructions:
1. Cut fours rectangle 20 holes wide by 50 holes high each and one square 20 holes by 20 holes.
2. Working on the box sides, sew the tent stitches, back stitches and straight stitches as per diagram in the yarn colours shown, paying attention to the direction stitches are going.


3. Using the overcast stitch, finish the top edges in black yarn.
4. Sew or glue a piece of felt to the back side of each of the panel pieces.
5. Using black yarn, whipstitch the panels to each other then whipstitch them to the square base to make a box.
Box Lid Top:
1. Cut out one square 22 holes by 22 holes and stitch as shown in diagram below:

2. Cut out four box sides 22 holes wide by 6 holes high and stitch as per shown in the diagram below:

3. Using black yarn finish the bottom edge of each of the box lid sides in the overcast stitch.
4. Whipstitch box top sides to each other and to the lid top square.
