Purple "Fireworks" Gift Card Holder

Fireworks gift card holder finished project done up in dark and light purple. Photographed on a wood background.


Materials:

Dark purple yarn (worsted weight or yarn size 4 )

Light purple embroidery floss

5 inch piece of tatted lace

7 count plastic canvas mesh



Instructions:

  1. Cut out plastic canvas shapes as per diagram. The overall size of each piece is 26 holes wide by 17 holes high.

2. In dark purple yarn, fill in the tent stitches as per diagram below.

3. In dark purple yarn, add in the straight stitches as per diagram below.

4. In dark purple yarn, add the fan stitches as per diagram below.

5. In light purple embroidery floss, add the straight stitch highlights as per diagram below.

6. Using light purple embroidery floss and the back stitch, stitch on the tatted lace making sure to center it between the fireworks pattern and the bottom edge of gift card holder front.


7. Using the overcast stitch, finish the right side edge of the fireworks pattern piece and the profiled edge of the back piece.


8. Whipstitch the remaining three sides of gift card holder together making sure not to whipstitch the edges done in the overcast stitch.


9. Your project is now complete and should look somewhat similar to the photo of the sample piece below:
